The award-winning House of Music Hungary has become one of Budapest's most iconic cultural landmarks, and every summer its outdoor stage comes alive with an eclectic mix of concerts and performances. July's programme brings together celebrated international musicians, rising Hungarian talent, family-friendly events, and unique crossover productions - all completely free to attend.

Whether you're planning a relaxed evening after sightseeing or looking to discover Budapest's vibrant arts scene, there's something here for every music lover.

The month opens with the Romano World Music and Dance Festival, taking place on 3 and 4 July in partnership with Romano Drom. The two-day festival showcases the richness and diversity of Roma culture through traditional and contemporary music, spectacular dance performances, and vibrant live concerts.

The celebrations begin even earlier with the Gojma Dance House - Baxtale Concert on 2 July at 10:30 pm, turning the festival into a lively three-day celebration filled with music, dancing, and community spirit.

On 5 July at 7:00 pm, acclaimed ensemble PeruJazz takes the stage with its distinctive fusion of Peruvian folk traditions, Afro-Latin rhythms, and contemporary jazz - an energetic performance that promises to transport audiences straight to South America. Classical music follows on 10 July at 7:00 pm, when the Danubia Orchestra presents a summer evening concert as part of the Sunlit Strip series. Designed to appeal to both adults and children, the programme offers an accessible introduction to classical music in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Another international highlight arrives on 21 July at 11:00 am, when Ecuador's Luis Humberto Salgado Symphony Orchestra performs a special daytime concert, bringing the sounds of South America to the heart of Budapest.

One of the most unusual events of the month takes place on 22 July at 7:00 pm, when Buster Keaton's classic Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) is screened as part of the Music for Silent Films series.

Rather than simply watching a classic film, audiences will experience it accompanied by live music, recreating the magic of cinema's earliest years while giving the performance a fresh contemporary energy. Even if you've never seen a silent film before, this is a wonderful place to start.
