The Budapest Sweet Days are Europe's fourth largest outdoor sweets-themed event, after Perugia, Tübingen, and Obidos. In recent years, Hungarian chocolate and sweets manufacturers have won Europe's most prestigious professional awards, so the quality change experienced in gastronomy has reached confectioneries, and the sweets profession is also gaining a respected place.
Since 2016, as one of the capital's gastronomic attractions, it has been held in Szent István Square, in front of the Basilica, where no entrance tickets are available. During the weekend that we call a celebration, more than a hundred exclusively thematic exhibitors, manufacturers, traders, and confectioners present their novelties, handmade, high-quality products, or popular chocolates from selected world brands year after year.
Sweet Days was the first Hungarian festival and trade fair where domestic participants of this internationally new trend could have a place. Since then, as elsewhere in the world, sweets have taken on the most prominent place in today's gastronomy - cookies, cakes, chocolate, or ice cream. International experts, such as the founders of the London Chocolate Academy or the owners and masters of world-famous Swiss manufactories, have honored the Sweet Days.
Visitors can expect hundreds of manufacturers, chocolatiers, traders, and confectioners to showcase their newest artisan products, such as high-quality chocolates, hand-made cakes, and unique drinks and ice creams.
Dozens of professional and popular programs at the Sweet Days make the good atmosphere guaranteed by sweets even more colorful. Every year, we can meet well-known speakers, public figures, and prominent visitors on the sweetest weekend.
It is an excellent family program that is not just for sweet lovers.
