Traveling to Normafa is an experience in itself. Take the Cogwheel Railway, which departs from Városmajor station near Széll Kálmán Square. The trains on line 60 are part of the cultural and historical heritage of the capital. These red and white carriages have been operating in the city since the 19th century. You can ride this retro vehicle up to Széchenyi Hill, and from the last station, it takes about 20 minutes on foot to reach Normafa. 

If you find yourself at the Széchenyi-hegyi terminus of the Cogwheel Railway, consider taking the legendary Children's Railway instead of walking. A unique aspect of this railway, which travels to Hűvösvölgy, is that primary school-age children operate the stations and serve on the train. The Children's Railway takes you through a beautiful forest environment, so sit back in the retro carriage and enjoy the stunning views along the journey. 

It's important to note that Normafa transforms into a small ski paradise during the winter months. Since the 20th century, many people have enjoyed sledding and skiing in the Buda Hills during this season.
